12 angry men - 十二怒漢

It's a very amusing name for me - 12 angry men (...............). Well, it's not angry at all. The film revolves around 12 juries disscussing a case of murder, and the most impressive thing of the movie is the film have only one scene - the jury room. The 12 juries and 1 jury room assistant are the all people you can see in the film - you can't even see the defendant. With 12 men and 1 room, astonishingly, it made one the most sensational movie you ever seen.

The film embarks on a 12 juries in a sweltering jury room discussing whether a young defendant guilty or not. All of them expects a unanimous vote that would rule the young boy is guilty - except one man. The man refuses to make a shoddy decision and so he votes down the ruling. Therefore he is soon seen as a troublemaker by the other 11 men and then a fierce row is posed. At the very beginning, audience solely gets the vaguest idea of the story, the lack of information make you keep an eye on the screen. As the story going forward, more and more details are being unveiled and the story is finally finished with a unexpected ending. In this film, we can see the power of a movie script. Even there are just 12 actors and one scene, a sophisticated script makes everything possible, it's much more powerful than a exaggerated special effect or some elegant decoration.

The flim also hails the juridical system of America. It reflects the ideas of repecting life and pursuing justice. Indeed, the movie comprises of many element, such as the 12 men is a micro view of the America society, those men each is a badge of a corresponding class. To a certain extent, each of them shows a pervasive personality of that group of people, it's plain to see in the film.
