11 years for literary prosecution

Liu Xiaobo had been sentenced to 11 years for his 'inciting subversion of State power'. The prosecution mainly stemmed from his participation with Charter 08, which is a manifesto signed by hundreds of human right activists to call for a democratic reform of China. Westerns had voiced their concerns about Liu's arrest, and ambassadors called on to free Liu when the sentence was handed down. However China seems without any intention to quash the conviction to Liu in status quo.
China's draconian manner in this case has drawed allegation that Beijing would like to give westerns message, tells them do not attempt to influence China's internal affairs. China's stiff stance and confidence are possibly braced with its domestic economic grown and less reliance on import amid global financial meltdown. But it's plain to see that China exploits this case to deter the democratic activists in the country and shut them up.
As a chinese, it's pleased to see China procure more and more say in international societies, but it seems its arbitrariness is also reinforced in tandem with the State power. The current trajectory of China's development, which is lack of democratic and specch freedom element, is not sustainable. A arbitaray regime would not win any respect among internationl bloc and would not be fully trust. Nowadays westerns has chanted China as a important partner and given certain respect to Beijing, was merely to gain concession to make money in China's huge markets. Apart from this, westerns are still reluctant to reserve China a seat in the round table and thus China is still facing resistance to turn up as a leader among international bloc.
If china intends to outshine westerns in the future, change is needed.

Copenhagen summit failure means nothing

The climate change conference turned out to be fail to enact a legally binding pact to limit carbon emissions. The conference had been faced resistance from developing countries which would inflict enormous economic loss if the pact come true. At this moment, it's still premature to assert the climate change is irreversible, even the conference did not make any tangible result. Before any concrete progresses, if any, coming in the future, it's time for us to play a role in mitigating climate change.
Which can we do? it's much more than you can imagine: turning off the lights and electric appliances you don't need; never waste any single paper as to save the woods; ride bus or other public transports but not private car; if it's a walkable distance, go on foot. It's from Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror":

And no message could've been any clearer

If you wanna make a world

A better place

Take a look at youself and make that

Change!

What we would get in the next 10 years?

Beijing's unwillingness of making concession for reducing its carbon emissions would be prejudicaial for the summit to come up with a substantial progress. As a developing country, China will harm its economic if beijing pledges to contract its carbon emission - for deducting every 1% emission, a few million jobs lost. I dont think Beijing will dare to take such responsibity as the social unrests are increasing.

Even for those developed countries, e.g. US, in one hand they just start riding out from the economic crisis and it's hard for them to give developing country handout. In the other they would be reluctant to see the developing countries boast a high emission quota. Both two sides are concerning their enormous vested interest, but i hope a win-win solution would be made as a result.

A confession

I hadn't update this blog last week, due to my ISP service was suspended till last friday. To be frank, even i couldn't get access to my blog, i should do it with notepad or MS WORD and loaded it into my USB drive or sth, then looked for a internet accessible PC to update the blog. It sounds very very crazy.

Normally, whether update your blog or not in a regular basis is not somethings with very high consequent. For me, i make this blog because i want to write somethings, sincerely, to record what i have seen or thought in last week. Everytime i wrote a new passage, i had looked deeply into my mind and learnt how to express my inside thinking with a language which i didn't grip it very well. Everytimes i added a new column to my blog, that implied i have another chance to practise myself how to reshuffle the muddled ideas in my mind. For me, keeping the blog updated is something quite important to refresh myself.

So i should do it at all cost, even i didn't have internet - yes, i admit it is crazy, I'm solely a very insane guy. But, as you have seen, i didn't do it, maybe i am not as crazy as i think.

You need to give priority

Many people always moan that they have too much to do but time is not enough. Sometimes people would turn to someone for help, or forgo something in order to get things done, or even call off everything because they don't know how to deal with such a big chunk of work. Our live is just fully loaded with unexpectedness and thing would never happen with complying your schedule - We plan to have one but always get three or four as a result.

But the truth is we just get 24 hours a day (if you dont need to nap), and we indeed have many to finish. Making 36 hours a day maybe a good solution, but a more feasible way is that you can give things a priority. It sounds very simple, but you ask yourself - how often you do so? or going further, do you really have a clear and tangible 'priority chart' in mind? What will you put in the first place?

If we have a concrete priority chart, we can deftly get out the most important in a pile of work on our desk. Even there are really many things pouring into your head and try to make you confuse, but because you have a clear priority, so you never become anxious and swiftly pick up what is the most important. Albeit there are many things remain unfinished, you are dealing with the task which is the most important, you thus have the strongest reason in mind to give those up. And you will find youself without feeling any quilty for shriking those jobs, contrarily, you get a very fulfilled and substantial feeling.

But first we need to have that priority chart in mind. You can get it only by yourself. You always know what's the most important to you, but ironly we usually opt to ignore it, because it routinely harms you if you take it on. Studying and playing, we take playing; Bear it or flee from it, we opt to flee. Sometimes we exploit "busy" as a pretext to shirk form our responsibility, because keeping to do meaningless jobs can make you deceive youself: "Hey, i'm dealing with a priority, pls don't bother me." But you really know in your deepened mind that you are just going further apart from that actually important to you. So if you really want to procure a priority chart, first you should learn to listen yourself, listen the voice from your deepened soul.

The priority chart just act as you campass, when you are floating in the sea and are struggling in the overwhelming waves, you will not lose the direction to the land. When we get confuse to make decision, such priority chart will always be useful for you.

This is it

To a certain extent, this's a bilking - it is comprised most of the remaked version of Michael's old songs but only one 'This is it'. But i, as a MJ fans, will not throw a fit. 'The last Micheal Jackson album' is worth everything.

I am awaiting for the DVD in the coming months.

Sound good

The government had unveiled a Hong Kong-Japan working-hoilday scheme and teenagers aged 18 ~ 30 can hand-in their application in the coming year.

The good news is that I am eligible to apply for, but the bad news is i have never dipped into japanese. For all eligible candidates, they must boast a asset of 200,000 yen to promise their daily necessities and proficiency in Japanese would not pose any advantage to candidate. Successful appliants can also do a part-time job to ease their livelihood in Japan. The government said the scheme is to provide teenagers a opportunity to soak in the Japan cultural as to widen their horizon, so successful candidates should not hasten to hunt a job.

But i want to say, if i really have such a money, i would opt to travel by my own.

To be cool

Welcome, Spring.

It's going to be cooler and it would have been a very impressive moment when you dives into a swimming pool, the chill will make you get faster and faster in the water because it is solely a affliction to stay still. I'm very appreciated to spot that the swimming centre will turn to warm water in the next week.

Running trainning is underway.

P.S Well done liverpool, and sorry Owen.

Set to marathon(?)

The Hong Kong Marathon will take place on 28th Feb 2010, i will take part in the 10km challenge with my friends. I guess i will hand in application tomorrow and fork out for a new pair of running-shoes. The problem i really concern is how much time i would set aside for training, it's really awkward for me. In one hand, i am a running novice so i ought to spare more time to run, but in other hand if i really put extra time on training, i have to cut short and even call off some of my daily affairs, that i am indeed reluctant. Okay, it's time to reshuffle my time table.

Murakami Haruki had said in his best-seller "What i talk about when i talk about running" that he ran 10km everyday for marathon practice. As a famous writer like him, it should be a pile of work waiting for him but he can surprisingly set such time aside for running. Confessedly it really puts me to shame - for both physically and mentally, i may need more training.

P.S i have heard that Mizuno Wave Aero is good for distance-run training, i should have one.

Oh! bama

I guess it would be the most astonished news this week - maybe this year. US President Obama won this year's Noble peace prize. For me, its impact far outshone Prof. Ko who won the Physics prize in spite of i was a graduate from EE department of CUHK.

The reason of giving the prize was that the Noble prize Commission hoped the prize can encourage Obama to achieve concrete progress on his multilateral diplomacy. Many people doubted that if it's premature to give the prize since Obama had yet to make any tangible result by the policies he handed down. Obama also said he was not deserved the prize, but he would receive it modestly and seen the prize as a incentive to push him teaming up with other countries to strive for a better future of the world (Something like that). Indeed i like Obama, he always impresses me by his principle oriented attitude. I really hope he can do what he have said.

This news have drawn many other speculations but i do not intend to quote. But i think it would be much more amusing for giving the prize to MJ.

Car Free day

Last Monday was Car-free day, the government openly upheld the activity and those high-rank officials had taken substantial action to brace for the environmental-friendly event. The Chief Executive went to office on foot and Micheal Suen rode bus on the Monday's morning. For our Chief Secretary for Administration Henry Tang, he had opted to take a taxi and leniently shared the cab with Secretary of Justice Wing Yan Lung.

Our Chief Secretary for Administration may think that there's a big different between a taxi and a private car, but i guess most of the citizen gets dissappointed with his choice. The citizen is appealed to dispense with private car and advocated to commute with public transports in Car-Free day. Maybe you will think taxi is also a public transport, but indeed the idea behind Car-Free day is to lessen the emission by reducing the use of private car, i believe that a taxi is identical with a private car in the view of emission of pollutant. So if you rides taxi, basically you have done nothing for the event. In fact, such one-day-event do not pose a very obvious improvement in scientific way, but the most crucial is the symbolical effect to make citizen more vigilant to the environmental affair. The prominent officials should act concretely as a model to appeal the people to diligently concern our living ambience, but not turn to cosmetic way.

The issue is likely to make people think some of the high-rank officials' snub of environmental affair and are politically insensitive. I doubt those rich folks' ability to oversee our city.

12 angry men - 十二怒漢

It's a very amusing name for me - 12 angry men (...............). Well, it's not angry at all. The film revolves around 12 juries disscussing a case of murder, and the most impressive thing of the movie is the film have only one scene - the jury room. The 12 juries and 1 jury room assistant are the all people you can see in the film - you can't even see the defendant. With 12 men and 1 room, astonishingly, it made one the most sensational movie you ever seen.

The film embarks on a 12 juries in a sweltering jury room discussing whether a young defendant guilty or not. All of them expects a unanimous vote that would rule the young boy is guilty - except one man. The man refuses to make a shoddy decision and so he votes down the ruling. Therefore he is soon seen as a troublemaker by the other 11 men and then a fierce row is posed. At the very beginning, audience solely gets the vaguest idea of the story, the lack of information make you keep an eye on the screen. As the story going forward, more and more details are being unveiled and the story is finally finished with a unexpected ending. In this film, we can see the power of a movie script. Even there are just 12 actors and one scene, a sophisticated script makes everything possible, it's much more powerful than a exaggerated special effect or some elegant decoration.

The flim also hails the juridical system of America. It reflects the ideas of repecting life and pursuing justice. Indeed, the movie comprises of many element, such as the 12 men is a micro view of the America society, those men each is a badge of a corresponding class. To a certain extent, each of them shows a pervasive personality of that group of people, it's plain to see in the film.

A glitch

Ordinarily i do not miss such glitch, because it's so plain to spot. But i was dazzled by a heavily packed text and thus i overlooked it. For every single room, only one person can dwell inside. There were 4 rooms and i spotted 5 persons - but i didn't sense the fault. Then i was distraught and spent more than 2 hours to cope with the error but, of course, i could not get my way.
When i found the glitch out, i thought that even a pig is more competent than me.

Super Star

It is likely to be the most weary TV show on Sunday. The show is just taking the cue from its Taiwan counterpart, but everything is entirely down-graded. It attempts to emphasize the friendship among the participants, tries to pose a ruthful ambience to the show. But they overdo it, such makeshift emotion is unable to grab any sympathy and it solely makes the progamme cosmetic. The soild relation between participants seems stemming from nothing, and you would presume they are already well-known each other for a very long haul. When one of them is out, the others would cry miserably and vie to embrace the pathetic loser, despite they have not even talked with each other. The producers may envisage that the audience are a dupe at all.

The talk-too-much hostess also play a big role in the show. Every single word form her mouth is never handled with her brain, her meaningless comments and defiant attitude to the particpants shows her lack of modesty. Apparently the producers also spot her inability to take up the show, so they arrange a relatively more versatile actor to be her partner in an attempt to mitigate the strained ambience. And i am now grateful to see that she obviously talks much lesser than before.

All of participants are just ordinary folk, none of them can be dubbed as a Super-Star. I concede we should not pose such illegitimate demand on them, they are just amateur, i know. In fact they have outshone a bunch of appliants to grab the qualification, and if the profession of the judges is concrete, we would only assert that the competition is fail to grip genius talent to take part. There are many similar singing contest held in the past, but then no one can get the whereabouts of those winners. Even someone wins such march, his/her path to sucess is not promised. So there is just a measly attraction for the talents to take part in those contest, in stead they may opt to roll out their masterpiece by their own or just wait to be excavated by prominent producers. In fact they are not needed to play a role in those farces. However i still intent to praise the courage of those participants, even there are a big room for them to improve.

Maybe the only thing that can please you is the judges. Most of them is a versatile and experienced performer, and boast a substantial achievements, they are solely a team of veteran singer. We are hardly found today's artist like them who strive to polish their own technique. They really far outshine the participants.

Drug Test

Despite you are a girl, you dress so boyish. I intend to confirm your gender, so i come to you and ask you to show your tits. You assert i have no warrant to do so, it is obviously illegitimate. You say i am ignorant and crazy. But then i say: If you are really girl, why dont you show me your tits to shut me up? Now, because of your reluctance, i affirm you have an ulterior motive and attempt to conceal something.
So would you will to endorse my advise, and strip youself off?

My family had been travelled aboard in this week, and left me alone in home. It was marvellous to stay in home just myself and i could spend my time much more effectively. (Pls forgive me, my dear mother.) For instance, i can turn off the television and thus i can escape form the weary TV programme, or i can eat at any time (also any where in home).
I presumed that unless you lived only with yourself, you were hardly to have such a peaceful night. I was envisaging to finance my family to travel aborad again and so i could have another happy hour. (Sorry again, My mom.)

A watershed in life - 《UP》沖天救兵

For those have yet to see the movie, Pls think twice to proceed this passage. I went to see the movie a week before. When i leave the cinema, i merely though that it's just fairly good, contrasted with a pervasive praise to the movie. Many dubbed the movie as "the best movie in the summer that you must go to", and i presumed i was duped at this moment. The story was indeed pristine and touching, and told with a entertained way that made the movie very conclusive. I conceded that the movie was indeed a good movie providing a profound amusement, but was it really worth such a overwhelming hailing?

After his wife passed away, a old man's life plunged into vacant. He found that life became so diffcult without her, and the sweet memories in the pass grinded him a lot. One day, a accident propelled him to recall a promise that he had made to his wife a long time ago. To address the miss to his honey, old man set to ride and strived to fullfill the promise that he had made in the pass, that's the opening of the story. Old man and a boy had hurdled many uphill and thorny challenges and turned out that they accomplished the struggled mission. Maybe the 3D-glasses made me so uncomfortable, that i was already wearing my glasses, i was somehow disappointed by the movie. If you really treasure and love someone, you should do good for her(him) when she's alive. Death is a inevitable destination for all of us, we cannot turn it around, so we should know that the time for us to stay with our loves is very limited - we cannot envisage what'll happen tomorrow. We must be grateful when we are still mingling with our loves, and strive to grip every chance to escalate our relationship. If you want to do sth for them, DO IT NOW, dont wait and hide it in heart. When it's too late, you have nobody to blame but yourself. No matter you set to do anything, weep how miserablely, the people you loved would never know, and you are merely compensating yourself, mitigating you grief - it is totally meaningless. Pls dont soak in the story and obscure by the colourful movie scene, it is reality.

This perspective persisted in my mind for a few days. But everytime when i recalled the scene of the story, i got bewildered. I didnt think that a cosmetic story can touch anyone, but, i confessed i was somehow touched by the brave old man. Maybe i had missed something. In these day, I attempted to open up myself and let the story sink in, and forget about the 3D-glasses, I seemingly got a brandnew view of the story.

When you plunge in an desperate ordeal that it deprives everything from you, razes everything you built, and now you are not as strong as in the pass. You have nothing, and your life seems surplus and no merit, apparently death is the only wayout to you. At this moment, do you have the courage to restart everything again? Can you ignite the flame in your heart - as you do in the pass, engage to a new tour and write down a new page in your life?

There is a very enlightened quote from 《Rocky Balboa》, and i think it can appropriatly explain the gist of the movie: "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! "

That's the point i overlook. For the old man, it is not something self-compensation or remedy, it is substantially a badge of his courage, a courage to usher himself in a new page, a courage to overcome uphill challenges with his frail and pesky body - it is the courage to make a watershed for the man's life. It is not for the pass, it is for the future. I persume that's just the movie intended to show us, and it is just the reason to touch me.

Well, maybe it is the best movie in the summer that you must go to.

In this weekend

I had seen a movie along with my friends in this weekend, and turned out we found that it would be the most weary 2 hours in our life. I would opted to read a book, play TV game or, going further, watch a demeaning TV programme, but not spent to get such "heart-wrenching" moment. 2 hours, the cost was so big and i was not able to pay. Fxxk..................

I pledged that i would never be plagued again by such movie.

I got very bewildered that why did other people sitting around us vie to laugh? Sometimes i presumed that Hong Kong was really a heaven and chances were ubiquitous, because the city was heavily laden with dupes - maybe i was one of them, too.

Who's accountable?

Sir Bobby Robson passed on this Friday. For detail please turn to here. He is the man who can only be toppled by the God.

Okay, now come back to the topic.

The Book Fair had been ended on early this week, and i didn't go for it. But i still want to say somethings. The Fair in this year sucessfully lured crowd but not money. The overall sales of chinese book was well short of excepted and sank of about 10%, since the attendants surged about 20% to last year. English-books gained a substantial growing but didn't help much. Instead the fair was almost overtaken by the pseudo models.

The pseudo models rolled out their racy photo albums in the book fair, has drawn fierce criticism form pubilc. Many accused that the prominent and solemn local cultural activity was turned around by those indecent publication. Many Believed that it was outrageous to reckon those racy albums as class 1 - either obscene nor indecent, in light of the photos emphasizing the models' curvy body. Most parents lashed the albums that it was sold openly and making their children contacted such racy photo easily, they urged it should be a adult zone in the fair to turn teenager away form such porn material. We could see obviously that most public was reluctant to see those pseudo models in the fair by many reasons. Some youngster deployed a silent march in the pavilion to show grievance to the pseudo model, said there were no room in the cultural fair for those pseudo models.

Somehow those accusations were reasonable, for instance, the adult zone and the preposterous classification to the album. But I got bewildered that what's the reason to get rid of the pseudo models? You could moan their demeaning behaviour, you could boycott them, you were permitted to do so. But we were not eligible to prohibit their participation. We could pay a enormous cost to do so and we could never able to afford. Speech freedom and diversity are the cadres of a civilized society - If we really banned those models, we were going to pay both of them. Just because today you exploits "obscene" as a reason to deport the models, yesterday you can pick another reason to turn another batch of people away - it is solely a arbitrary. Public sentiment could never be put in line with the principle. If we over relied on morality, it would be prejudicial to the justice of the society.

Pseudo-models overtooking the book fair was not an moral issue, it should be an market issue. There was a demand, and supply ensued. The substantial problem should be "Why those demand was so big?", and the fact was that such enormous demand confused the public to turn the course to the models. So who's accountable to this issue? Many, but none of the models. Education, pressured city life would be counted.

But Why them?

無事說書 - 大亨小傳 The Great Gatsby

I was grateful to meet this book. The Great Gatsby 大亨小傳 was reckoned as the badge of the America literature and hailed as one of the greatest english literature ever. I confessed that it was a pie in the sky for a amateur like me in an attempt to grip the wisdom inside the book, it was not a modesty. But almost all the great literature shared a amazing trait - even you merely snatched a little piece from it, it would still be enough to make you abundant.

Apparently it was a tragic story about a tycoon chasing a dream, a unreachable but splendid dream. But we would all know (or presume?) the book was much more than a tragic story. We were witnessing a great soul contending in an ordeal. Seemingly it was a story solely about Jay Gatsby, but in fact it was a story of every american, the deepened virtue engraved on every american's heart. A fragile soul, even being lashed, punched, or smashed, endured to approach the destination, made a dream real, and that's what achieving today's America. Thus the dream was not solely to Jay, it was substantially the America's Dream. Jay Gatsby was completely the projection of the ideal charater stemmed form the America spirit. In the story, Nick had said: "They're the rotten crowd. You're worth the whole damn bunch put together." (他們都是混蛋, 那一個都及不上你.)

Here i would like to derail a while, talking another book - "The Seven Habits of Highly effective People", the best-seller have been classified as a business administration and self-help book. But it would be an interesting experience for you when read "Seven Habits" prior to "The Great Gatsby". You would found they were laying on the same priciple. It seemed that Jay was the so-called "Effective people". In fact, i have usually though that "Seven Habits" was not merely a business book, it was in fact talking about the American spirit, the unique elements comprised in the American Culture.

To read a certain country's literature, garnering a preliminary understanding of that country culture was always a great help. We can make it by many ways, for instance, by the history, musical, even movie. For a passive behavior like reading, you were still needed to proactively prepare to do it well, so i always believed that reading was a skillful habit, as sport, it needed you to devote, pratice, endure and then be remunerated.

If possible, i will go for the book fair in this year before tuesday, albeit it would be very unlikely.

Media - Struggled to cope with

A video of the Micheal Jackson Pepsi accident was unveiled a week ago by US weekly. Many trusted that was the crucial turning point to the star to plunge into drug abuse and plastic surgery. I had talked about that in the blog before, and turned out that there was a irrefutable evident. (I lamented that my friend showed dissent when i told the accident to them before, claimed that i was defending MJ. Now i can shut their mouth, HaHa.)
There were more and more news disclosed in the aftermath of the Star's death, strived to overturn the negative image of MJ. In one hand they alleged the accusations made before to the star were forgery, in the other hand they purported the preposterous behavior of MJ was stemmed form his glommy childhood and compelling from his ambient people. Those news seem suing us for the misunderstand to MJ, convicted us that the tragic end of the Star was somehow promoted by us.
I had read a passage from Blog Hoiking, somehow inspired me to think: The media is so overwhelming to us. Pls recalled, who did the most vicious condemn to MJ? Who regularly put MJ in line with outrage and pervert? Yes, ya got it - it was the one now enthusiastically upholding the Star. The media was so influential and we were so susceptible, seemingly we cannot get anything real in the city in the grasp of the newspaper headline. Matrix is no longer a imaginary movie. We were now facing a immenent question: How do you define real?
The answer was apparent: You should have you own independent will and be a critical thinker. But how to procure them was totally an other story. We were weary to see how was our generation "independent" and "critical thinking" in the prior 20th anniversary of 6th June incident. They showed us that thinking contrary with most of the people is independent, speeching decently can make it real. How can us turn away those "talk show" mingled with those assertion from our city? I was sorry to say that obviously we cannot. Despite we cant change it, it didnt mean that we would get use to it. The very key element was that we should always stick to the priciple when coping with those information. You should build up you own unchanged core in you mind to deal with those rapidly changing information. Think proactively sometimes can help you unveil the truth, you should try to set aside your own prejudice and turn to the rational. But how to do it? It depended, I can just give a handful of advise because I was solely a novice. Dousing the drastic emotion and turning into a calmly thinking was something utmost diffcult, worse when you plunged into rage. You just attempted it for once, you would know.
Obviously our government should promptly draw up a law to rein the media and turn around the lenient curb. We need more watchdogs to monitor the information releasing and stop spreading of the public-pleased news. Our news policy apparently needed to reshuffle, but before we made it, we should first shape ourself up to foil those exaggeration.

Friends

How would you think of the term "good friend"? Good friend is someone you are willing to go along with, happy to talk with. He would always be there and prompt you seldom thinking of alone. He would always shore you up, show forbearance to everything you did, unconditionally. For every decisions you make, he stands alongside with you, incites you to archieve your goal. When you get rejected by the others, you would have his consent and make you feel good. He is someone always appericate with you, you would envisage that you are the best when you going with him. You would find it is cushy to make consensus with him because you both think alike and talk alike, he's seemingly someone molded from you, he would do what you like to do, have what you like to have. You just always feel good to stay with him.

Is it correct?

There are nothing correct or not in a relationship. But if it were yes, what you need is not a human being, you simply need a recorder - it says what you say, never shows dissent. It would not hurt you, make you get gloomy. I have heeded many people just only intends to go along with someone embracing them, they dont need dissident.
Friend is a partner in your struggleing life. If you are my friend, it would say that i determine to turst you, rely on you. Maybe we are not alike, we always clash with each other, even sometimes we would rattle our relationship. We see the reality so differently. But we realised that no one can see the whole picture, our preception is limited and you would see things i overlooked. So we are gald to see we are thinking differently and concurrently we are not needed to agree with each other. We both have our own discretion, we are so different, so we can collaborate and make something greater than alone. If you think i'm wrong, you would tell me, never afriad that it would hurt me, because you take it as you obligation, take me as your good friend, you want me to be good, you want me to do it better. Maybe i am reluctant to take on your opinion, rigid to accept you suggestion, because i have my own mind and you just dont understand me. So we plunge in a vicious row, even a scuffle, and cause a standoff. But we have came across for so long time, i know your meaning, even the words from you is fierce, and so do I. When we clam down, we still think of that you are my friend. So I wave my hand to you, go down and have dinner together, preceed to our talk - it is what i think about Friend.

A small plastic bag

The plastic bag levy will be imposed on coming tuesday, for charging each plastic bag from 50 cents to 1 dollar. The selling of recycle bag has thus been surged. But do you sure that you would bring your own bag when you go out? I concede that i do not intend to take a bag with me when i go to supermarket or store, it's pesky.
Albeit i have such envisaging, i really holdup the levy. There are more than 20 million plastic bags used in Hong Kong everyday, it solely are a severe problem for the limited landfills. The levy would effiectivly contract the using of plastic bags and relief the suffocated dumpsite. Also, it helps boost the selling of retail shops and super markets. Everyone just thinks alike, bringing a bag for shopping is inconvenience. You go to supermarket, haven't bring your bag, and you are reluctant to pay the levy. The outcome is you would turn to the delivery service. But you knows you are needed to buy enough to have a delivery, so you do it. It is merely a win-win.
By the way, Owen opted to join the red devil in coming season. Everyone was surprised by the Ferguson decision and despised that "glasses-lag" striker will botch MU. But i believe he can play a good role, just see whether he can return to his heyday.
Pls be reminded that the Michael Jackson ceremony would be on showed in tuesday midnight.

Michael Jackson (1958 - 2009)

I has never though that the 2nd time i mentioned about MJ in my blog was about such sombre news. Michael Jackson, the most influence pop-singer ever, a uniter of black and white music who break the race obstacle on MTV, was declared dead on 26 - 06 - 2009 (Hong Kong). People all over the world were shocked by this news, and it would be one of the most gloomy day in the history.
Michael Jackson devoted his whole life to music and left a unprecedented legacy to the world. His versatile music talent, astonishing creativity and unique dancing would engrave on people's heart. The world would remember that we once had a living legend who we had never got before, no one can deprive his marvellous and inclusive contribution to the modern music.
Speculation was made that MJ' death was a result of over-taking of a fierce painkiller, but the truth of his death was still pending till next week. But i believed the cause of MJ's death was not drug or sth, but the comeback concert. I didnt think that How can a frail Michael Jackson take 50 concerts ? If you have seen the MJ's concert before, you would know it is really a stamina dump. Smooth criminal, then Billie jean and Dangerous ensued, no any rest or break was put up, how can a 50 years old Micheal take it? It would be the reason for MJ to abuse painkiller - which was likely to sent him to the grave.
The company organized the MJ comeback concert was severely hit with the MJ's death, which has already invested more than 30m US dollar to the concert. Previously the company claimed that they were willing to take the risk and strived to bring the legendary pop-singer to the stage - i just didnt know what i should say, it was solely a bad-luck to the company. Source gauged that extra 80m US dollar would need to spend to retrieve the concert tickets. Despite some of the fans called for a reclaim to the concert ticket, i cannot find any more stupid than. Okay, if you really want to get back the money, i am merely willing to buy it, which would be the most valuable estate of MJ- a badge of the final and unfinished concert.
I put my greatest sorrow to Micheal Jackson's death, I am here to show my utmost respect and grief to the most lengendary pop singer. Thanks very much for your every giving to us.

Drug School in Mui Wo?

The dispute is ongoing. The public was overwhelmingly in sympathy with the Christian Zheng Sheng College's students, who were pathetically misunderstand by the Mui Wo residents. But some criticised that Mui Wo residents should have their right to chant their grievance and didn't have any obligation to show forbearance and clemency in light of our freedom of speech. Those critics had won many braces and made the public seem sentimental as if they were meddling in Mui Wo resident affair.
I merely agree with that the Mui Wo residents should show their point of view, and i can solely envisage their thinking. I not think there are someone is willing to have a drug school in the vicinity. I also doubt the pathetic image showed by the School's students, i know the school vows to help the teenages who plunged in drug abuse. We can see the students pledge to live their new life and determine to disengage from drug - but is that all of the students in the school think like that? Can we rule out the likelyhood that the school makes the drug abuse problem pervasive in the Mui Wo society?
But i dont want to think so reasonly and I intend to shore the students up. Freedom is sth you apparently have, you are warranted to use, even abuse it. But we shouldn't confuse this abuse with reason. As we look into the affair, find out the rationale of the dispute, we can see two diffent pictures. Mui Wo residents intend to label the school in line with drug abuse, they are "selectively blind" to defy the determined and incentive students, but only look at the perverted. They boo the school and student as if they were already devastating the society, they are carrying their right out ruthlessly, selfishly and recklessly.
Maybe the school cannot reassure you due to their enrolling policy, but we should know well the school have vowed to help perverted students for many years, they have showed their forbearance and willingness to embrace the go-astrayed students over a long haul. We should praise their contribution and they are deserved to have the respect from all of us.
Mui Wo resident have given their right - they can say no if they want to. But we should not confuse the dissent with reason. How the bureau take the opinion on is not our bussiness, but we should have the judge on the affair.

I love Summer ~

Summer is always ensued with happiness. In the last year summer, as i just graduated, i spent all of my time to do things i like most, for instance, went to swim 3 times a week, read books in library every afternoon (Umm....), or went along with my friends. It was one of my most meaningful and inclusive summer, I learnt a lots from reading books and it prompted me to look into myself, thereby i procured many dignified and wise idea to shape myself up. I had not hastened to find job as it should be my last long summer vacation, i intended to make it in term of fun. I envisaged to hava a trip, but it was called off with some reasons. Anyway i still had my good time. It ended up as a job offer given to me.
I am keen to have another good summer, i am looking forward to promenade under the sun shine.

P.S. We can see KaKa, C Ronlado and Villa (?) in the lavish RM in the coming reason. It should be
a unprecedented and explosive team to make their opponets gloomy and dire - when you
are playing PES 2010 wuth you friend.

Nothing

I rein myself to write the blog once a week, but routinely i cant set to do it. I struggle to inspire myself to start writing. Say sth about the news happened in this week? Fine, a taxi hijacking or a 17 years old teen almostly drown in a one metre pool are quite good to discuss, 20th anniversary of 6th June pro-democrazy movement is also prominent.
Taxi robbery turned up twice in this week, and the hijackers involved were teens. What's engraved on the youngsters' mind?
Would you intend to make a high jump into a 1 metre pool ? What's bracing up our teens to do so?
A solemn vigil of 6th June incident turned into a trendy - some teenagers huddled and treated it was a carnival, printed funny icons on their banners and brandished them to make fun. What's the teens envisaging?
More news i hadn't mentioned, for instance, drug abuse for the students of a well-known school, etc. I found i'm just too old to be a young people - maybe a highly defective uncle. I cannot sympathize with our city's youth, i cannot set myself to realise them. I am ruled out.

4 days to go

How to find a reason to make a massacre reasonable? Can you?

When people chanted their grievance to the regime, sued the government for bribery, in an attempt to make the country turn to a better way, would you dub them as a dissident or traitor?

How can a government make such a decision to sent tanks to crush their people and order troops to trample on the people bodies? just in light of the people had not hailed them?

Can a ballyhoo written by ink taint the history recorded by blood?

We should not make it too sentimental, but were needed to hold the truth for next generation.

你的樣子如何, 你的日子也必如何? Your face is you fate?

Despite it is not something unprecedented, even old-fashioned, it still makes me feel fresh and passionate, by that newly screened movie. The story is very simple as a fairy tale, it is some kind of the film that you can forecast the ending at the beginning. A fat and nasty looked guy, who chef in a small restaurant, find it is hard to make friend with any girl. Despite he has tried for many times, and he is a really optimistic, enthusiastic and ruthful guy, but all the girls dislike him just due to his ugly face. When he is sombre and wants to give up, he is given a "homesome suit". As the name. meaning, the suit can make the wearer to be the most handsome guy u can ever imagine. The guy's fate is thus change dramatically, he get all the girls' attendtion, haunted by a flock of pretty women. The ending is easy to guess, and i dont want to say anymore, just see it by yourself.
To my recollection, there was a similar movie srceened in Honk Kong years ago, casted by Andy Lau.

With similar story (maybe not that similar), but the endings of those two story are very different. The guy and the girl in "Love on a diet" were both fat and nasty, and faced many hurdles from their society due to their bad-looking. The guy suffered and dedicated to make the girl get enough money to receive surgery to be a pretty girl. After all, the surgery was very sucessful, and the girl was touched by that noble act form the guy, and the ending is:

"You are so slim!?"
Well, what a happy ending, both the guy and the girl now look so fit and beautiful, cheer~
So, what's in the mind of our city's media? Basically it was a good movie, and some of the scenes were very meaningful and touching, the guy's dedication is a really sacrifice to the girl. But ironically, the ending ruins it all. Why the people with those noble traits must have to possess a good looking face to archieve a good ending? It seem the story is just to say that despite you have made a lots of sacrifice, you have to get a charming apperance, get it?
"Handsome suit" obviously drawfed the "Love on a diet". At lease "Handsome suit" has sent you one meaningful message: The most handsome guy is the one who can really love and appreicate himself, and thus he can also love and appreicate the others, as to protect the others. The guy who hates himself and always shames the reality is merely a ugly guy, no matter how handsome is he, that guy can only to be cosmetic, selfish and reclusive. Just one thing: the apperance is not important at all:
Is it just a imaginary? Is that somethings old-fashioned? Yes, definitely. The story overlooks one thing very important in the reality: Come on, not all of the fat guy possesses a ruthful heart, as not all of the cool man shares a bad traits. Anyways, the movie is funny and the message is solemn, I love it.

How to keep a habit?

I have heard that if you keep doing sth once a day for 3 weeks, it would be u habit. Yes, i did, but sometimes i was frustrated, Why? I found my incentive was going to be shrank, my passion was cooling down, no matter how did i fuel it. But I have to hurdle it, i believe i can make it.
If you want to get sometimes, you would first give out somthing. Just like that you should first seek to understand, then to be understood. But i guess it is not a piece of cake.
I always say that nothing is impossible, unless you give up. Yes i know, you just dont agree with it. it sound like a simple, not mature and short sighted guy would say. If you see more, hear more, look into the reality, you easily found that the obstacles are everywhere, they are overwhelming, enormous, make you contract, make you shirk. You have no choice but give it up.
But i want to believe (not X-File) the most valuable thing can only be made with the longest, most ineffective way. "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional". You dont believe it, my friends dont believe it, even my closest family, doesnt believe it. Okay, but i have my independent will, i want to believe it. Despite i feel really tired.

不游得 - About swimming

Maybe it is unwise to go swimming amid swine flu, but i have done it today. Who's fxxking cares? Why do i want to talk about swimming? There are a few reasons, swimming is almost the only good thing i would do, i am really grateful to have such a healthy habit. Also i have read Murakami Haruki's "what i talk about when i talk about running"(即村上春樹的《關於跑步,我說的其實是⋯⋯》, 中譯版推出了相當一段時間了), that inspires me. (Actually i have yet to finish it, it is a very nice book, i will likely to share my feeling for it once i finish.)

Many people know how to swim pretty well, but i am not one of them. I am too weak for freestyle, too aggressive for backstroke, too struggled for breast stroke, and, too tired for butterfly stroke. Perhaps swimming is funny for you, but i want to say, it is a suffering for me. I have a friend (Dennis) who is really good at swimming and he is my coach (but not very professional). At first, he teached me how to do freesytle, when i was a novice for swimming. No matter how hard he taught, how hard i tried, i just could not do it for 50 metres. In that summer, the utmost i could do is just about 25m. As you could see in swimming pool, many old man, old woman, even baby girl, can do 100 more metres easily, and you could understand how frustrated i was. In the next summer, it's better - 40 metre. Some of my friends, those did not know how to swim very well and received no train, could finish 50 metre easily. You could see someone who keep waving his body in the water, but didn't move any forward. Yes, it is me. It made me feel some kind of depression, and some kind of angry. I have done it unremittingly, I spent all my time, why i can't make it ? The another side of pool seem too far to reach, my body seem too heavy to float. I was hydrophobic. Maybe basketball or running was a better chioce for me.

But i dont know why, i just haven't given up at that time. Never think of me that i am a tough guy, i am not, definitely. Maybe my ancestry have done somethings, ghost knows? As i saw all the people surpassing me, i just kept waving my body, not very nice-looking, unremittingly. Sometimes others would think of that i was drowned. I crawled in the water, metre by metre. One day, i found i can reach the another side of pool, despite slowly - I made it. That 50 metres made me a shining moment in my life. So i could do as good as my friends, Yeah~

So how about how far i can go now? Over 1000 metre, i am not kidding. But my pace is still low, i can just do it slowly. It doesn't matter, i am not going to win someone, i just want to do it better. It is very slow progressing, but i make it go forward, i drill it inch by inch. Maybe it is a solely a kind of rigid, i dont know. Only little people is a inborn winner, for someone like me with no any talent and brillant mind, i am glad to have this kind of rigid - Maybe it is my lalent.

你個罩呢? where is your mask ?

The first comfirmed swine flu case was found in HK on 1st May, who was a tourist from Mexico. I believed it would be soon that Mainland China and Macau have its first H1N1 comfirmed case. It was inevitable for us to live under the treat amid the wide spread of the lethal virus, so we should do sth with it such as put on mask, wash your hands and keeping good health. But, it was not the case actually. The fact was that i hardly saw anyone putting on their mask in the street or in bus when i was getting around, except someone walking out from the Superior Count (HaHa.....). Sometimes, i found people just spat on the street, or had a bad cough in the crowd. It seemed everything was okay, nothing had happened, Cheer.
Well, i bet i will see not more than one-tenth putting on their mask when i board the bus tomorrow.
Share something interesting with you:

" We all know Schubert had not a nickel to spare, so why u still think of that classic music is just for wealthy? "
I am gald to see the HK Sinfonietta take efforts to beckon people to know classical music in terms of young and fun, even i know nothing with classical.

無事說書 - 川端康成 Kawabata Yasunari

I love to read, but only few people around me know. I am struggling to talk with my friends about reading, on one hand, they dont like it. On the other hand, despite they like it, they only have interest to read books like "How to be rich", "How to make friend with somebody u hate" or "What if your father is 李嘉誠?". I reiterate that i am not going to condenm anything, i understand we all have freedom to choice, I just sometimes feel a kind of lonely. But i enjoy this kind of feeling, and in my university life, i was grateful to have some friends to talk with (e.g. Martin). I remembered at one time we used to talk about Kawabata Yasunari.

Snow Country (雪國) is the first Kawabata Yasunari (川端康成) book i read, and i have liked it the most with all Kawabata's books. The first is the best, it is always vaild to me. But i also like the other books by Kawabata as well, just like "The Old Capital", "The Sound of Mountain" and "Thousand Cranes". Ironically, i had not have a read of one of the most popular "The dancing Girl of lzu". Many alleged that Kawabata's works were some kinds of porns and self-destructive, claimed the life was meaningless and trival. It was fair enough to say the stories were sort of depression, sometimes it tried to give u a message that in front of your desperate life, no matter how u did, u just could not get any meaning out of it. But i had never ever thought that. I believed that what it's trying to say was totally different. Definitely you were not likely to get any meaning out of you life, just because the fact is: You are the one to give meaning to life. If you want to have a inclusive and versatile life, just do sth to make it: 人如果冇夢想, 咁同條咸魚有咩分別? Kawabata is saying that: Yes, maybe it is sort of useless, maybe it cannot benefit anything, maybe even it is totally wrong to do so, but you just do it because it is you "evidence of existence", and we thus can make a tough response to our desperate life.

Reading of Kawabata is a wonderful experience, as if u were not reading the words, instead u were looking at a screen. At the very beginning in "Snow Country", a men in a train looked at the window glass of the carriage. The glass reflected the image of the girl next to the men, collaborated the sights behind the glass, made a abstract and "transparent" picture. For something we often did in our daily, Kawabata made it in terms of symbolic and artistic. So you may found that you would want to stop, want to see, started to notice, look at the small things in your life after reading Kawabata. Remember, everything have its own meaning, but you need to find out.

For someone who loves Japan, wants to know more about Japan in terms of culture and spirit, Kawabata should be you favourite writer, and it is one of the points to win him the Noble Prize of Literature. But it is also good for leisure reading, at lease it is vaild to me.

難得認真的頭條新聞 - 1989 democratic movement

Someone said, for the generation like us, 20 years ago Tiananmen Incident was just like a historical material. We can read it on textbook, we can discuss with our friends, but we are not needed to be so serious because it was a long times ago. In 1989, all of us were so small, so we have had an excuse not to pick it up, we are not responsible into it. Everythings was simply blurred for us.

That's why recently we heard someone comment the incidient in terms of doubt and unrealised assumption, such as: The student leaders were 'runaway' leader, or the military suppersion would be avoided if protesters dispersed peacfully, sth else. But the fact is: The national troops pointed their gun and fired to the unarmed students, simply because the studentes were there fighting way for demoncrazy and accused of corruption. The tanks crushed to the people and the reason just was the people wanted to express their disappointed to the country. The tear was the people's tear, the blood was the people's blood.

Not to forget, not to shirk. We have the responsibilty to hold the truth.

聞.見.思.錄

http://blog.hoiking.org/

It is one of the best webblog in the internet in these years, i do believe. Just click and go, i dont want to say anymore.
But I should mention one thing: The blooger and i both are the Fans of Eva.

Michael Jackson ?

It was the 1st time, i blamed myself that why i was born in HK? but not UK or somewhere in Europe. MJ had announced his comeback concert on coming July in London. Some Sources had said it was the first station of the worldwide tour of about 10 countries. I didn't think that's true, simply considered the health condition of MJ, but i wished HK would be the one of them.
It was not cool to like MJ (& Phil Collins), someone said. It was fair enough to say the best time of MJ had gone. People only remembered his nose, his colour and allegations to him. Even for someone had not ever knew "Billie Jeans", "Man in the mirror" or "Dangerous", knew well about the plastic surgery and child abuse scandals of MJ with detail. "Who's Michael Jackson?", if u asked, "Someone have a collapsed nose." , it was the answer.
I am not going to defence MJ, despite i do really like him, but i think it is not fair to judge someone according to such gossip news. Do you think that is possible to make someone from black to white over one night? Please, if it's true, i think most of the cosmetic company will close desperately, and u will never think of why SK-2 can still be the church of girls. (Girls contribute one-tenth to).
Do u remember Michael Jackson Pepsi commerial? It was sth i heard: a accident happened during the production, and MJ was injured and his face and back got burnt by fire. Pepsi kept everything a low-profile and turned out that the news had not spreaded over. But MJ's nose was severely injured and could not be completely healed. I dont know whether it is true, just believe it or not.
Now I want to ask a question: what's Art? Is that Andy Lau or Kay Tse Art? It depends. For me, Someone commits to one particular thing with paying his whole life, that's called Art. So, Pacasso is Art, Van Gogh is Art, Albert Einstein is Art, your mother loves you is Art, and Michael Jackson is Art. His life is merely made of Song, Dance, and tragedies. Maybe u think of that i am kidding, but i believe it is not very diffcult to understand me, if u have tried to know more about MJ. (All of the HK performers claimed that they were artist, they should think twice).
If u talk about MJ with u friends next time, Pls, not just focus on the MJ face.

時光飛逝

Today is 5th April 2009, don't be afraid that u have been backed to the 1995. It has been 14 years and many things has been change and cannot be returned. But i think it is appropiate to talk sth i like-most in my blog. Absolutely Eva is one of them. It is hard to introduce that great anime in words, if u r one of the Eva fans, u realises my meaning. If u has never seen or heard that b4, i highly recommend u to see it once. I have great confident to say that u will regret for meeting it too late. The paper angel Wiki has done a great job to make u a basic (?) concept about Eva: Click Me
1995, it's the Era of VHS, is a meaningful year of the japan anime to have such unpercedent impact - the first publishment of Neon Genesis Evangelion. At the beginning it was not very well known and it seemed that new comer cannot catch anyone's attendtion. The first time i saw it is because of my sister's boyfriend, who lended me a comic version of Eva, volume 1 and 2. It should be One of my important ossacations in my life (maybe it is too serious to say that). I had been falled in the world of eva, i slaved.
I remembered that a video shop in town-centre, where becomed a toy department of Jusco right now, selling japan anime VHS. For each time i went with my mother to town centre, i tried to make myself a chance to go to the shop, just to see the box covers of those Eva VHS. It should be about 25 or 26 volumes, and i cant took a look to all of them each time, i just had too little time to do so cos my mum would take me out. It had already been my lightened moment, for a little boy like me. I never thought about to buy 1 or 2 volumes cos i had no such cash, further, i enjoyed that sweet-heart moment , 3 or 4 minutes a day, was my most preious time. Yes, I had already realised the meaning of what the fox said to little prince at that time. (Though i desperatly tried to find those VHS when i grown up).
For a boy so young, easy to be influenced, the symbolic anime hit me with a enormous impact. A unspeakable depression feeling was took-over the entire story, and it made those char in the story a extra-ordinary charm and a unique world outlook. I easily dissloved in the story everytime, i was lightened with them, i depressed with them, i sorrowed with them.
But sometimes i struggled to talk about the Eva ot my new friend. Absolutely i love it, but the anime came up with so great deal of 'otakuism'(?). To be a otaku, someone who easily misunderstand by people surrounding, it makes me a little bit uneasy to share and discuss with. (Yes, i am so defective).
It has been 14 yrs, i am no longer a little boy. My heart is no more room for sth like that. I be a person who hard to influence (?), only little things can rasie my interest and make me commit in. It is the price we paid to grown up. Despite we has lost sth in growing, we get sth new, sth more important, sth make us able to find and pursue our own dream. We will be more proative, we more realise the world. We can set our own target, and go ahead as fast as u can. We are not likely to return to pursuit our highest form. Sth will be leave behind, it is inevitable. That's why it is so preious, cos we cannot get it again.
The 2nd episode of Eva movie will be going to show in summer this yr. i remembered the 1st episode was shown in spring in 2008, and nobody wanted to go with me at that time. I was so frustrated at the moment. I hope i can get someone to go along with me this yr. Thanks God.

Sick leave

It has been the 3rd day, and it should be the last day, i hope so. I had discharged yesterday and it is very hard to have a rest in hospital. Yes, public hospital is the worst place for paients, and i had never got it and cant understand what the residents in it had said till yesterday.
Actually, the yelling and painful cry is the very first thing u can get (boths from the staffs and paients), and all the sound sources are very easily to find in everywhere (i m sorry). If u think of that there maybe any 'Power managment' and the sources will be 'turned off' in the midnight, sorry, u will be definitely disappointed. 'Pain', boths physically and mentally, do not likely to disappear easily at anytime. All the paients are closely packed in the wards, as if u could see there are just one big bed and all people were placed on it altogether , so u can imagine without any diffculties that how hard u can fall into sleep. How can the paients be relieved without a quality rest? It is very ridiculous to know that hospital is going to give u a place like that.
U can find all the staffs are in busy, it is very precious to get their attendion to u for a while. If u asked for them in the morning, then they probably came to u at the noon, if u still needed their help at that time.
So u knows that it is totally a imagination to get a heal in public hopsital.
So what is going on? Who make those happened? i believe that is the matter of 'Source', such as financial source, human source as well as spacial source.
Public hospitals is sourced form the government, but it is seem to be not sufficient. Despite government had increased the expenses on medical service in the last yr, citizen did not experience any of it. Immigrants from motherland, incresaing in elderly population, and the rising standard of the medical service have faded out the increased expenses.
So if u want to have a really rest when u sick, two point: be freaking rich and go to private hosptials.
